My Story

When demagogue bullies act out and put the world on a war footing, and good leaders are forced to make hard choices, it's the displaced and the vulnerable who suffer most.

Jesus says, "I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me".

Care4Calais feeds, shelters and welcomes the displaced and vulnerable. They also lobby for all good ways to stop the small boats, not simply criminalising the bereaved and traumatised people in those boats.

Come to a fundraiser Mothering Sunday Restorative Yoga and Afternoon Tea for 30th March at Viveka Gardens Retreat Place in Mid Devon. You don't have to be a mother or a daughter to come, but we honour and have in our thoughts the women and girls and their menfolk caught up in the wars greedy, crass leaders past and present. Please do also donate if you can't make it or aren't into yoga.

Mothering Sunday's origin is in the practice of people in service in big houses going back to their home town and mother once a year. Quite poignant and pointing to the rich-poor divide. People who've had to leave their home town, and maybe their mothers: how will they ever return home?
